About Avenues Design and Build

Chris Scherrer is the director of AVENUES DESIGN AND BUILD.

He has been a builder for 30 years, and then went back to the BoP POLYTECH and gained the DIPLOMA in ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGY.  Now he is in the position where he can draw from the practical experience of his building years and put fresh ideas down on paper.

He is doing new build, renovation, alterations and additions. All drawings are computer generated can be viewed in 3D.

Whatever your project may be, Avenues Design and Build can help you find the best solution in the preliminary design process to establish a concept. In this phase, we have regular meetings with the client to ensure that we have all design ideas covered in a way that satisfies all parties. It is easier and cheaper to change a line on a plan than a wall in a building at a later stage.

Help and advice can be provided to the client when it comes to selecting the right building product to make sure it is up to the task required. Some products are cheaper than others but may have in turn higher maintenance requirements. This can be compared with the energy efficiency. The repairs and maintenance factor needs to be considered at this stage to reduce costs in the future. A building is going to be there for a lot longer than 10 years.

Once the concept is approved by the client, we will proceed to prepare the consent drawings and all building consent application documentation.
